In this video I talk about #Yelp advertising for hairstylists. Every hairstylist and salon should have a free Yelp listing. There are a bunch of people that use Yelp so being on any directory profile for free is a good thing...and yelp is one of the best. When you sign up for a Yelp listing, you will get a couple calls per year from a yelp salesperson asking you to sign up for their paid advertising. I will just say upfront, I am not a fan.
I think Yelp is way overpriced (in some regions) for what it is. I don't like how they have a one size fits all pricing format. And I don't like the fact that you have to commit to a year of advertising. What if it doesn't work? There is no way to back out. I don't trust their analytics, and if I can't trust the analytics, I can't trust the service. Yelp is good in many ways, but they certainly fall short with their advertising platforms.
